Magical Nubra

Overview

One of the most alluring aspects of Ladakh is the diversity of its geographical and topographical beauty – this gets amplified in Nubra Valley, situated about 5,630 m above sea level makes you feel as if you are on top of the motorable world. To begin with, the journey to Nubra Valley is magical in itself. Start early to get the best of the day’s weather for the first half of your journey as it takes you over the world’s highest motorable road through the Khardung La Pass. At 5630 m above sea level, you will find yourself on top of the motorable world!

  • Day1:Reach Leh

    Arrive at Leh airport, meet and greet by our representative and transfer to your reserved accommodation. Later in evening visit Shanti Stupa built by Japanese monks to promote world peace. This large hilltop stupa has brightly colored reliefs on its mid-levels and is topped by a spired white hemisphere (smoking is prohibited here). Visit the eye-catching Sankar Gompa monastery. Lastly, visit Leh Palace, dilapidated yet interesting, which was built in the 17th century in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture. The rest of the day is at leisure. O/N Leh

  • Day2:Leh-sham valley-Leh

    After breakfast you will head towards Alchi monastery which is the oldest monastery of ladakh.The monuments in this monastery are stated to be one of the unique style and workmanship.There are one of he oldest surviving paintings of ladakh .On the way you will visit Magnetic Hill (a gravity hill) and sangam - Confluence (where two rivers meet each other) where you can do river rafting as well. The hill is alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull cars uphill and force passing aircraft to increase their altitude in order to escape magnetic interference.

  • Day3:Nubra Valley

    This morning, drive to Nubra Valley, popularly known as Dorma or 'the valley of flowers' via Khardungla Pass - the world’s one of the highest motorable road (5602 mts). On arrival, check-in to your camp. Later in the afternoon, visit the Diskit Monastery and the giant statue of Maitreya Buddha which is the tallest Buddha statue in Ladakh. Later, visit the white sand dunes at Hunder where you can enjoy the Double Humped Bactrian camel ride (ride on direct payment basis).O/N hundar

  • Day4:Nubra -Leh

    After Breakfast visit Deskit Monastery and the 106 ft Maitreya Buddha statue. This spot also offers a magnificent panoramic view of Nubra Valley, later drive back to Leh by same Route crossing Khardungla Pass. O/N Leh

  • Day5:Airport Drop

    Early morning transfer to Leh airport to board flight back to destination with beautiful memories. Journey Ends.

Nubra

Nubra Valley is a high-altitude desert located in the northernmost region of India's Ladakh region, situated at an altitude of around 10,000 feet above sea level. The valley is known for its stunning natural beauty, including towering snow-capped mountains, the confluence of the Shyok and Nubra rivers, and the unique presence of double-humped Bactrian camels.

The valley is also home to several ancient monasteries and gompas, including the well-known Diskit Monastery. Visitors can take part in activities such as camel rides, white-water rafting, kayaking, and trekking. The best time to visit is during the summer months between June and September when the weather is warm and dry, and the roads are open.
