8 Days Nubra -Pangong – hanlay- Tsomoriri Tour
Day l: Reach leh
Arrive at Leh airport, meet and greet by our representative and transfer to your reserved accommodation. Later in evening visit Shanti Stupa built by Japanese monks to promote world peace. This large hilltop stupa has brightly colored reliefs on its mid-levels and is topped by a spired white hemisphere (smoking is prohibited here). Visit the eye-catching Sankar Gompa monastery.
Lastly, visit Leh Palace, dilapidated yet interesting, which was built in the 17th century in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture O/N Leh.
Day 2: Sham valley
After breakfast you will head towards Alchi monastery which is the oldest monastery of ladakh.The monuments in this monastery are stated to be one of the unique style and workmanship.There are one of the oldest surviving paintings of ladakh .On the way you will visit Magnetic Hill (a gravity hill) and sangam - Confluence (where two rivers meet each other) where you can do river
rafting as well. The hill is alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull cars uphill and force passing aircraft to increase their altitude in order to escape magnetic interference.
Day 3: Leh - Nubra
This morning, drive to Nubra Valley, popularly known as Dorma or 'the valley of flowers' via Khardungla Pass - the world’s one of the highest motorable road (5602 mts). On arrival, checkin to your camp. Later in the afternoon, visit the Diskit Monastery and the giant statue of Maitreya Buddha which is the tallest Buddha statue in Ladakh. Later, visit the white sand dunes at Hunder where you can enjoy the Double Humped Bactrian camel ride (ride on direct payment basis).O/N hundar.
Day 4: Nubra- Pangong
Nubra to pangong via shayok valley(165 km/6-7b hrs) This morning, after breakfast, proceed to Pangong Tso, a lake which is 134Â km long and extends from India to Tibet. 60% of the length of the lake lies in China. During winter, the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water.
Day 5: Pangong-Hanle
After an early breakfast driv to Hanle. Hanle in changthang region of Ladakh is one of the most beautifull calm and soul loosing places in India. Hanle has a lovely hanle monastery
offering some great aerial views of whole village that is a home of about 1000 people. Hanle monastery is a 17th century monastery of the Drukpa lineage of the Kagyu school of Tibetan buddhism. Monastey is home to about 60 monks. The main monastery, one of the largest and best known of ladakh’s monasteries, was built under the protange of the kind singee namgyal. The views from the top of monastery are just breath taking. Hanle is also house an Indian astronomical observatory which is the world highest observatory in the world at a staggering height of 4500 mtrs. Overnight in local Homestay.
Day 6: Hanle- Tsomoriri
After breakfast drive to Tsomoriri Lake. It is a breathtaking journey on a trail that is literally a ‘no mans’ land. Vast lonely stretches on the Chanthang plateau makes this drive one of the best isolated drives of this tour. Tsomoriri is situated at an altitude of 4511m above sea level; with an area of about 140 Sq.km. Spend your evening watching shadows of the surrounding mountain and the varying depths of Tsomoriri lake. Stay in tented cottages at Tso Moriri.
Day 7: Tsomoriri-Leh
Post breakfast we check out from the Camp and explore the lake area and Korzok village. Later drive back to Leh. you’ll drive back on the same route till Mahe bridge and then take the beautiful road along the river Indus to Leh. Arrive Leh for dinner and overnight stay
Day 8: Airport drop
Early morning transfer to Leh airport to board flight back to destination with beautiful
memories. Journey Ends.
