Tar
EXPERIENCE THE FARM LIFE
The village has a unique approach to food production where we collectively grow our own food. Instead of selling our crops, we come together to farm for the benefit of all. As spring arrives, we plough the fields using our sturdy d zo (a hybrid of cow and yak ) and plant barley and wheat. The summer sun nourishes our crops, aided by water from the nearby glaciers. In addition to the cereal crops, we also cultivateapricot trees and vegetable gardens surrounding the fields.
Fall marks the harvest season, where we invite others to help us with tasks such as drying apricots, grinding flour, and storing food for our animals. Our farms are home to sheeps, cows, and dzo.The waste from these animals plays a crucial role in maintaining the fertility of our soil, ensuring a bountiful harvest. Farming in Tar is atestament to community spirit, collaboration, and a deep appreciation for the food we produce. We welcome you to join us and experience this unique way of farming firsthand!
