Tar

Nestled in the south of Nurla village in the Sham valley of Ladakh lies Tar, a village known for its alluring landscape, pristine rivers, serene nature, and heart-warming people. Tar is a village that has a rich cultural and traditional heritage that dates back to its origins as a shepherd’s place. However, Tar is facing immense challenges due to urbanisation and a lack of connectivity to the outer world. The village’s population has declined significantly in the past 6-7 years, and Tar is currently on the verge of extinction. In this proposal, we aim to provide a framework for the rehabilitation of Tar village to help it regain its cultural and traditional ethnicity.
